Prior to joining Dreyfus, he was President and COO of Scudder Investments—a division of Deutsche Asset Management—and concurrently served as CEO of Scudder Distributors, Chair of the Retail Operating Group, and Principal of the firm’s Broker-Dealer. Before that, he was EVP at UBS PaineWebber, where he worked in various leadership positions for twenty years.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Ridgeworth Investments in Atlanta, GA. Jonathan holds a B.A. from Bucknell University.
President, Russell Investments
Vernon joined Russell Investments from Altß Partners, where was he was a founding partner. Prior to founding Altß Partners, Vernon was president and chief operating officer of GlobeOp Financial Services from 2004 to 2012, where during his tenure, client satisfaction and employee satisfaction both improved significantly and the number of clients, the AUM under administration, revenues and profit margins all increased substantially.
Vernon worked at Citigroup asset management from 1999 to 2004 and was the global head of operations and technology. Previously, he spent twenty-two years at Bankers Trust/Deutsche Bank in a series of senior management positions. He worked in proprietary trading, eventually becoming a managing director, for eleven years. In 1988, he started the first U.S. bank-operated hedge fund business, taking it from a start-up to $1 billion in outside capital by 1992.
He earned both his B.A. and M.A. degrees in Economics from Cambridge University.
M. ROY BURNS
Managing Director, TA Associates
Roy helps lead TA’s investments in financial services markets, including payments, investment management and wealth management.
Roy joined TA in 2001 as an associate and returned to TA in 2006 after completing graduate school. Roy has closed nine investments totaling over $4 billion in enterprise value since joining TA.
Prior to TA, Roy oversaw Equity Investments at Davidson Kempner Partners and High Yield and Leveraged Finance at Banc of America Securities. Roy’s primary focus is on services and technology providers in electronic payments, investment management and wealth management, and he also has experience in business services.
Roy holds a B.S. from Washington and Lee University and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was named an Arjay Miller Scholar.
CEO, Orion Advisor Services, LLC
Eric Clarke is the founder and chief executive officer of Orion Advisor Services, the industry’s premier portfolio accounting platform for advisors. While working at Orion’s sister company, Mr. Clarke helped create Orion’s system from scratch when the off-the-shelf solutions available couldn’t handle their needs. When he’s not creating revolutionary products for advisors, you can find Eric spending time with his wife and four children, or summiting some of the country’s highest mountains.
Prior to starting Orion, Mr. Clarke served as chief operations officer for CLS Investments, LLC, an SEC–registered investment adviser. As an industry recognized expert in portfolio accounting, Mr. Clarke has written articles that have appeared in Investment News, The Journal of Financial Planning, ThinkAdvisor, and others. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Brigham Young University and a master of business administration degree from the University of Utah.
Managing Director, NorthStar Financial Services Group, LLC
Todd Clarke joined CLS Investments, LLC in December of 1992 as a Wholesaler. Before becoming Managing Director of NorthStar, Todd also held positions at CLS as Sales Manager, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, President, and CEO. In his current role, Mr. Clarke is responsible for leading the NorthStar national accounts and marketing teams, which focus on leveraging the collective size and offerings of NorthStar to offer CLS advisors and partners additional tools and distribution outlets.
Mr. Clarke received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Brigham Young University. He currently holds Series 7, Series 63, and Series 66 securities licenses. Outside CLS, Mr. Clarke participates in the TD Ameritrade Advisory Panel and has served as a Millard Public Schools Foundation board member.
Managing Director and Co-Head of Services Group, TA Associates
Todd is co-head of the North America Services Group and focuses primarily on investments in financial and techenabled services companies. He serves on the Board of Directors of DiscoverOrg, Evanston Capital Management, NorthStar Financial Services Group, Procare Software and Russell Investments. Todd formerly served on the Boards of 2nd Story Software, American Access Care, Clayton Holdings, Cupertino Electric, The Murrayhill Company and Quantitative Analytics.
Prior to joining TA in 1994, he was a Financial Analyst in the Financial Institutions and Structured Finance Groups at Salomon Brothers. Todd received a BA degree in Politics from Princeton University and an MBA degree from the Harvard Business School. He serves as a Board Member of the US Lacrosse Foundation and the MAO Corporation, and is on the Advisory Board of the Positive Coaching Alliance.
Senior Vice President, TA Associates
Clara joined TA Associates in 2014 and is currently a Senior Vice President in the Services Group, where she focuses on investments in business, financial and other services companies. She serves on the board of Northstar Financial Services Group, is a board observer of Russell Investments, and works closely with BluePay Processing, Inc.
Before joining TA Associates, Clara was a Vice President at Fireman Capital Partners, where she focused on consumer and retail investments. She also previously served as an Associate at TPG Growth. She began her career as an Analyst at Goldman Sachs in the Investment Banking Division.
Clara received a B.S. degree, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, in Economics from Vanderbilt University and an M.B.A. degree from Harvard Business School.
